I got more issues than Vogue
SELF-PORTRAIT
I got more issues than Vogue
There is a movement that refuses to be contained. The Vogue logo, is carved as an echo of ideals and dreams, a portal through which the inner self is pressed into the perfect world.
What usually hides beneath the surface takes shape, swells, breathes.
I got more issues than Vogue moves between self-portrait and maybe a confession, between play and the serious. It is a delicate balance between control and release.
With its title, the artist borrows the irony of pop culture and turns it inward. The piece becomes both a laugh and a wound; an eruption of material and meaning in a time when everything must look good, even when it’s breaking apart.
